Last night the wife's let the boys out for a motorcycle ride down to Quaker Steak & Lube in Clearwater,FL. Robert, Jay, and Franks bikes roared driving through my subdivision to meet me at my house to join the group. After hand shakes, we all commented on each others bikes. Jay who normally sports a bad to the bone raked out chopper, arrived to show off his new eye candy, a 2007 Harley-Davidson Road Glide complete with tunes and chromed out. Robert and Frank enjoy the comfort of HD Customs. Then there is my bike, a beautiful 2004 American Iron Horse Outlaw.
Eager to ride, we headed south for the 20 mile ride to the lube. The weather could not have been any better-high 70's and blue skies. We rode two by two down the four lane highway taking it all in. A stretch of the ride crosses over the Mid Bay Bridge, with the salty wind in our face and the sun setting over the bay-what a fantastic view!
Once making it to the Lube, luck was on our side to skirt past the parking attendants and get the cool spots to park with the big money bikes. This event brings about every style of motorcycle and thousands show up weekly for this big bike event.
One of the coolest bikes we saw was the all new Can-Am Spyder. Wow, how cool is this. Two wheels in the front and one in the rear powered by a liquid cooled Rotax 990cc V-Twin.
We spoke with Kevin (Can-Am Rep) who told us all about the Spyder. I was so impressed I said I may have to trade up.
After checking out other cool choppers and crotch rockets, we decided to head home. The ride home was nice and cool, just right for a light jacket.
Until next time, ride sober, ride safe, ride smart and enjoy the wind in your face.
Welcome to Palm Harbor, Florida aka Livin n Paradise
Thank you for visiting my blog. On this site I will share with you my adventures here in South West Florida. With an average temperature of 76 degrees, its no wonder we call it "Paradise". With the Gulf of Mexico nearby, the temperature here rarely exceeds 90 degrees, we have some of the best boating in the world and several exciting motorcycle events.
I hope you enjoy my content and thank you again for visiting.
